The Building to Which No One Was Allowed to Contribute
Anežský klášter
Of the building of the convent, Vojtěch Ruffer relates that King Wenceslas and Agnes wished to raise the church of Saint Francis and the convent entirely without help, and therefore forbade anyone to contribute anything. The rich feared to fall into disfavour and held back; but the workmen who laboured here for wages disappeared when the wages were to be taken, and so did not accept them — and the king could not prevent it.
