A Chapel on the Bethlehem Ground Plan
Karlov
In 1708 the Bethlehem Chapel was added, which one enters down several steps; it is especially well visited at Christmas. It is a fairly large room, said to be quite like the chapel in Bethlehem in its ground plan. In a niche stands a crib with figures of life size, and in the left-hand section are frescoes representing Saint Jerome translating the Holy Scripture by the cave of Bethlehem, and Saint Paula with her daughter, who founded a monastery in Bethlehem.
