The Miller Who Rides Round His Treasures Every Friday
Karoliny Světlé
This street too had its ghost. A rich miller lived here once who cheated people more than anyone and rode about in a costly coach and four for the show of it. Before he died he buried his treasures — and in punishment he now rides out of his grave every Friday in a wagon, drives down the street, looks to see whether anyone has yet found his treasures, and returns to the grave with a great wailing. He will not be released until someone finds that treasure and, by good deeds, frees the miserly miller from his punishment after death.
