Content warning: execution

Drahomíra, the sworn enemy of Christendom, is said to have no rest in her grave to this day. On stormy nights she rides in a fiery chariot drawn by infernal horses through Hradčany and Pohořelec, and with no driver. She circles about and cries: “It will go ill, it will go ill!” But as soon as the hour of midnight strikes on the castle tower that terrible ride ends and Drahomíra and her chariot sink into the ground again on that spot, to set out once more on her dreadful night journey at the next storm. Drahomíra's column still stood in 1729 between this house and the church of Saint Matthew, and the legend was written on the column. Nearby was the place where persons of noble rank were executed, while criminals of low estate were put to death further out beyond Pohořelec.
