The Sacred Grove in Libuše's Day

Here and on the adjoining left bank of the Vltava there are still fine remnants of former gardens — and in Libuše's day there is said to have been a sacred grove and a temple here, where Libuše made offerings to the gods. For the most part it is a delightful spot, and even where the houses stand at the very edge of the water it is picturesque, like the Venice of Italy.
