Up to the Bridge by Ladder
Na Kampě
Krolmus's chronicle of all the floods relates of the flood of 1784: from the island of Kampa, which then had no steps at all, the people climbed up to the bridge by ladders. This gave occasion and showed the need for steps at that place in time of flood — and in that course of events they were built in 1785, and in 1844 were rebuilt with a double flight, more convenient and more complete.
