The Sexton Turned to Iron
Resslova
At one place in the railing an iron likeness of a head can be seen, of which Svátek tells this legend. There was once a sexton in the monastery who defiled the church; in punishment he was turned to iron and his head was set into the railing as though on watch. Every night the spirit of that sinful man walks the street and frightens people — which is why they were reluctant to pass this way, especially while the grim prison building stood opposite.
