Three Passages Beneath the House

They say that the house is more than five hundred years old and that Tycho Brahe received it from Rudolf II, and that the Virgin Mary appeared to him here; the astronomer is said to have had the well here fitted with its casing. And on the second floor of the house there is said to be a cellar from which eighteen steps lead down into passages: one runs beneath the Black Tower, another beneath the castle and a third somewhere towards the Jesuits.
