In the days of Emperor Rudolf, when the castle and its surroundings were full of life, a young goldsmith lived in a house here whose shop was often visited by courtiers and noblewomen. A lady of the court fell in love with the goldsmith, and although the knight Zdiborský was courting her she married the commoner and lived happily with him here. But the rejected nobleman hired assassins and broke into the house with them one night in disguise. The couple were murdered and their bodies buried in front of the house in the street, which was deserted at that time; the skeletons are said to have been found at the beginning of the eighteenth century. But someone among the servants recognised Zdiborský, and he was afterwards seized and executed.
