A wealthy innkeeper is said to have lived here who had an only daughter, beautiful but somewhat simple — which is why they called her the golden goose. But a poor student fell in love with her for her beauty and perhaps for her money too, and he managed to win the mother over with the help of a countryman of his who was then performing in Prague with a learned pony.
