A Corner for the Hangmen of Prague
Valentinská
In the old days, when even lesser offences were punished with death, the hangmen of Prague usually went only to the church of Saint Valentine; for they were so despised that even in church they had to stand in a corner of their own. It is even said that there was once a hangmen's chapel here, which the Crusader Knights later rebuilt into a church.
