The Oldest Square and the Town of Maroboduus

By legend the true and oldest market square lay here, the most ancient part of the settlement below the castle on the right bank. And a little book about Prague from 1817 asserts that underground monuments and walls used to be found here when people dug — and that these were the remains of the old town of Maroboduus.
