Šemík Was Libuše's Horse
Vyšehrad
The prince marvelled and, at the entreaty of all the people, granted Horymír his pardon. Horymír meanwhile reached his own castle safely, where at his request Šemík was led away to the mountain in which he had received him. There the spirit appeared to him again, and as it took back the returned horse it told Horymír that it was the spirit of Přemysl — and that Šemík was the horse that had once been Libuše's. According to the common version of the tale, Šemík injured himself by that great leap, and Horymír buried him before the gate of his house.
