A Dagger to Make Sure
Dušní
In 1663 Count Albrecht Maximilian Des-Fours had a family vault made here in the chapel on the north side of the high altar. According to the legend someone of that family came to life again in the vault and died of hunger; it was discovered when the vault was opened years later and the man's skeleton was found sitting in a corner. Since then, it is said, those counts drove a dagger into the breast of each of their dead before burial, lest anyone be buried who was only apparently dead.
